Homecoming

Homecoming is always an entertaining time of year. At my old school we always had the week before homecoming designated as homecoming week. This week was full of activities and funny outfit days. We would have pajama day, clash day, and dress up like your favorite celebrity day. We would have hardly any homework during this week, and we would just all have a lot of fun. We also usually had guest speakers come in and talk to us. Last year we had the opportunity to meet Gilbert Brown and Santana Dotson. Jeff Suppon also came in and talked to us. Both were neat experiences, because it’s not every day that you get to meet famous football players and baseball players. Then on Friday night there was always the big football game. Everyone would get decked out in their blue and gold, and be ready to cheer. The following day then would be the homecoming dance.
This year is going to be a little different considering I am now in college. I am still going to go to homecoming though, but at a different school. My boyfriend is a senior this year so I will be going with him and some of our other friends to his homecoming. My boyfriend and I have been going out for almost three and a half years now, so we have become accustomed to this sort of thing. It’s usually always the same routine. Everyone gets dressed up, gets their hair done, and gets their makeup done. Then everyone gets their pictures taken together, and the parents never know when to quit. After that we all get together and go out to dinner. Last year I had a small group with only 6 people in it, so we went to Ciatti’s. This year my group is a little bigger though, we have 14 people so far. We thought we would switch it up this year and try somewhere new, so we are going to the Three River’s Lodge. This is a restaurant that is inside the Radisson Hotel. I have never been there before, but it looks like it would be nice. I’m really excited for this weekend, and I hope that everything goes according to plan. I'll be sure to tell everyone how everything goes in my next blog.
